start 20 mtrs north of brenkley lane on the old a1 blagdon road. proceed north to the slip rd on to the a1(t) northbound dual carriageway. proceed north past stannington to take the slip road sign posted a197 morpeth (m). pass under the a1(take care two way traffic). turn right after passing under the a1 (m) to immediate t junction with the a197 southbound (m). turn right onto the a197 (beware of traffic from left). rejoin a1 (t) southbound and proceed to the sliproad signposted ponteland (m). continue up sliproad, over the bridge to rejoin the old a1blagdon, southbound. finish 20mtrs beyond the start point.
