Sean Tyson (Adept Precision RT) battled against blustery conditions to win the Wansbeck CC 21 in a time of 48 minutes and five seconds.
The cold conditions mixed with a strong wind meant times were two minutes slower than normal on the hilly M21 route.
Despite this Tyson still took a narrow eight seconds victory ahead of John Sturman (Active Cycles) while Adam Wild (Tyneside Vagabonds) a further six seconds back.
A close battle for the podium places saw six riders all finish within a minute of Tyson.
