Ryan Perry (Langdale Lightweights) clocked 19.19 on his way to victory in Mapperley CC’s 10-mile time trial, staged on the A10/2 course near Oxton in Nottinghamshire on Saturday.

The in-form rider, a 29-year-old captain in the army from Lancashire, was 1-45 ahead of his nearest rival on the A10/2 course which takes riders from Calverton Lane to Oxton Island and Northgate Island before returning.

Second spot went to Team Bottrill’s Russell Jelly with 21.04, while the podium was completed by Ian Guilor (Mapperley CC) who was just three seconds further back.

It was the latest good result for Perry, who is the reigning National 25-mile champion following his win in the title race last August. His 2016 results have seen him clock 17.53 on the V718 earlier this month.

Guilor was the fastest veteran rider, while Team Bottrill’s Sean Vincent was second with 21.27 which gave him fifth overall, just behind fourth place overall which went to Melton Olympic CC’s Jamie Haines with 21.23.

Chanel Mason made it a one-two for Langdale Lightweights with a time of 24.19 to take the women’s prize. Her time was a minute and a half quicker than runner-up Louise Day (Team Swift).
