Kieran Savage (Team B38 Underpin Racing) won Drighlington BC’s hill climb on Saturday with a highly impressive time of 2.47.8.
The 2015 Junior National Hill Climb Champion set a new course record on the V9917 in the process.
Savage’s team mates were the only other riders to go sub-three minutes on the newly resurfaced Scotchman’s Lane climb.
Archie Cross clocked 2.54.9 for second place and Patrick Clark recorded 2.57.5 for the steep 1,000 metre hill, leading to a clean sweep of the podium positions for Team B38 Underpin Racing.
Riders enjoyed lovely mild weather conditions, with a fast drying course leading to fast times on the day. Further down the field, Jonathan Webber (Harrogate Nova CC) nabbed fourth spot with 3.12.7, just ahead of Kieran Manchester who recorded 3.13.4 for fifth place.
Hayden Allen (Albarosa CC) was sixth with 3.18.4, while Dave Barnett riding for the promoting club was seventh overall and fastest Vet with 3.26.3.
Nikola Matthews (Boot Out Breast Cancer CC) was fastest lady, recording 4.19.7, seven seconds ahead of Natalie Hodson (Veloschils Interbike RT) who stopped the timekeeper’s clock at 4.26.9.
